Bread Focaccia

(flat Italian Bread made with olive oil and seasoned with herbs)



225 ml (8 fl oz) lukewarm water

2 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon salt

2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 sprigs fresh rosemary. Stem removed and chopped

400g (14 oz ) bread flour

1 ½ teaspoons dried active baking yeast

2 tablespoon olive oil

3 sprigs fresh rosemary, stem removed and chopped


Prep:10 min,       cook:25 min ,        Ready in : 35 min

1-      Place water, 2 table spoons olive oil, salt, garlic, rosemary, flour and yeast in the pan of the bread maker in the order recommended until Dough ready.

2-      Remove dough from bread maker and pat dough into either a 23*33cm(9*13in) baking pan or 30cm pizza pan. Use your finger to dimple the dough every inch or so. Brush with remaining olive oil and sprinkle with remaining rosemary.

3-      Preheat oven to 200 C/ Gas mark 6. Cover focaccia with cling film while oven preheats.

4-      Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
